Install and connect

- Open VCam on Windows and click Show QR code. Connect the phone and computer to the same local Wi-Fi network without guest isolation.
- Scan the QR, open it in Safari on iPhone or Chrome on Android, and allow camera access. Keep the phone page open and screen unlocked.
- Select VCam in the camera settings of your call or recording application. Restart that application if it does not list the camera. Choose a separate microphone.
Current beta limitations
The installer is not yet signed with a publisher certificate, so Windows may show a warning. Use only the official prodbyEDDY/vcam release. There is no macOS/Linux receiver, phone audio or dedicated USB connection mode. Camera modes up to 4K and 60 FPS depend on the phone and browser; 4K60 and universal device compatibility are not guaranteed.
Updates and removal
VCam 0.2.4 checks GitHub Releases once every 24 hours, retaining the last attempt time across restarts. Updates download in the background and install after you close the app. Versions 0.2.1–0.2.3 can update automatically to this version; 0.2.0 and older need a manual upgrade once. To remove VCam, use Windows Installed apps; the uninstaller removes the virtual camera registration.
